Do we really need another Zelda game right now?

The release date schedule has officially entered a state of COMPLETE RIDICULOUSNESS. Here's a hint for the publishers: I have a full-time job and a girlfriend. You can't do this to me. I simply don't have enough time to play all of the ridiculously awesome games you've decided to release in the next 2 months. Please give us a break. If something needs a little more polish, feel free to delay it a couple months. Nobody will get hurt.

Thanks to Denis Dyack for taking one for the team and making this holiday season possible to survive.

Is Resident Evil 5 Racist?

Apparently there is some debate going on as to what location Resdent Evil 5 takes place in. As soon as I saw the first trailer, I thought "Hey, it's gonna take place in Hati. That's badass!". I've been reading lately that there is unrest over the fact that you are killing black people in RE5. This brings us to a larger point that I think many people are overlooking; Zombification is colorblind. It can occur in all races and social classes. It's the great socail equalizer. Granted, the Spaniards in RE4 weren't zombies, but in fact were being inhabited by giant parasites. However, it's preposterous to assume that Hatians would be immune to Las Plagas based solely on the color of their skin. It seems that Capcom is hesitating to say for sure what country it is, but what difference does it make if it's Hati or Uganda? So I urge you, don't view Resident Evil 5 as killing black people, but instead look at it as an opportunity to make a difference in a third world country.

Just Dickin' Around

I GOT ME SOME HALO

in

Somehow I manage to snag a copy of Halo 3 at the midnight launch without a pre-order. The GameStop on Howell Mill (in Atlanta) had more than enough copies for everyone that showed up. The manager of that GameStop seriously knew what he was doing. By checking to see if the people in line had already paid, the store was able to clear a line of 300 people in 20 minutes. It was incredible. I had my copy of Halo 3 in hand at 12:25 without a preorder. On my way home, I noticed another GameStop that still had 50 people in line because they had waited until midnight to let people pay. From now on, I'm purchasing all of my midnight release games (and systems) from the GameStop on Howell Mill. When the line moves that fast, there's no reason not to.
