2 Guys Talk About Games

In our first podcast, we discuss the incredible awesomeness that is known as Earth Defense Force 2017. Then, in the second half, we talk about Take Two's "Franchise" announcement. PUT IT ON YOUR POD.

This week the 2 Guys talk about Rock Band, the importance and irrelevance of Japanese sales charts, why sequels are both good and bad for the industry, and why Aleck and I will never play WoW. Then, after the news, we cannot resist the seductive power of Halo 3. It consumes us all.

I wish we could stop talking about Halo, but we had to talk about this weeks biggest news. After we manage to stop talking about halo, we give our opinions on the Wii and what makes great. Then, Aleck rains on the Wii parade. After that, I'll teach you how the Wii works. Finally, we talk about Zelda. Yay Zelda!

Also, during the show I mention how to test the infrared camera capabilities of the Wii remote. I've posted the instructions I mentioned after the jump:

1. Turn on your Wii and click the Wii button in the bottom left corner.
2. Click "Wii Settings" and click the right arrow.
3. Click "Sensor Bar"
4. Click "Sensitivity" and click OK.
5. Then, point your remote at sources of infrared light (TV remotes, candles, the sun, the sun shining through your crystal chandelier) and see what happens!

While it's a slow news week, there's still plenty to talk about because ROCK BAND IS FINALLY HERE! When finally manage to stop talking about Rock Band, Aleck explains us some Mass Effect. Happy 10th Episode!

This episode features Nintendo's numerous Wii announcements for this week. When we finally stop talking about the Wii, Aleck loves his Orange Box.

In our critically acclaimed 5th episode, we lament the slow news week and do not really enjoy having to discuss the PS3 price cut. (It's so complicated!) Soon after, I'm very excited to talk about about 3 new games that cost less than $20. Then, Aleck still loves his Orange Box, but he just can't find the words to say it.

WARNING: This episode is a bit monologue heavy. We'll try to have more conversation in future episodes.

Thanks to Magnatune, we have a new intro song! This podcast features fine conversation about upcoming games like Smash Bros. and Dead Space. Then, the podcast maintains it's awesomeness as we discuss Guitar Hero 3 and Aleck's dreaded name change.

In this episode we discover that the new Resident Evil movie might not completely suck. Then, Simon is speechless by Niki's performance on More Than Words. Aleck follows with a PSA about buying Rock Band at WalMart. We are then swamped by the wave of new releases coming out this month. RIDE THE SNAKE.

This week's amazing episode starts with with the arrogance of Nintendo's president, Satori Iwata. After a bit of hating on Sony, we dive into the scrumptious topic of what we've been playing. Aleck's experience with Call of Duty 4 makes us ask tough questions about video games and war, but we don't answer them. Then, the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass urges me to make sweet love to it. To top it all off, Aleck got to play ROCK BAND! How was it? Tune in to find out!

This week's slightly-ill episode features our analysis of this weeks NPD sales charts. Then, Aleck loves his new Xbox 360 games, but almost misses Assassin's Creed because of Best Buy's incompetence. Luckily, the game is pretty cool. Towards the end, Altair reminds Aleck that he accomplished nothing.

In this week's slightly late episode, we weigh in on the GertsGate scandal. Then we discover that the giant merger between Activision and Blizzard is actually kinda boring. After that, we reveal the new (and almost useless) features of the new XBOX Live update. Then, I broke my guitars. So sad.

Apparently, I can no longer handle story-lines in games. In this weeks episode, we cover the he-said-she-said between Harmonix and Activision. After that, we analyze the Second Life shakeup. While I gush on Galaxy, Aleck finds more annoyances with Mass Effect. Then, Aleck proves that there is no justice in this world as he is forced to change his gamertag. Again. LOL.

In this week's exciting episode, there not much news. However, the Wii has been selling like crazy in Japan thanks to the release of Wii Fit. Then, Aleck finally breaks down and buys a DS Lite. Yay! Now he has an excuse to play Jordan's indie DS games. (Which is a good thing because the 360 isn't doing so well.)

This week, Microsoft and Sony have mildly exciting announcements at the Consumer Electronics Showcase. Microsoft bribes it's users with a free game, but it's just not enough. Then, can a free game be considered Game of the Year? Answer: Who cares when you can PLAY PEGGLE. NOW.

Then, Aleck proclaims that Call of Duty 4 multiplayer is better than sex Halo 3.

Nintendo needs to stop trying to make me think.

We are finally going to cover the biggest game of the season. ARE YOU FUCKING READY? But before we get to that, I sound like a retard. I'm honestly surprised that Aleck didn't cut the part when I try to explain the fate of Clover Studios. I'm seriously out of practice. However, once the awkwardness subsides, we get into the GTA4.

This week we discuss Aleck's Favorite topic: Rhythm Games! After we cover the Rock and Roll madness, we speculate on the potential of Wii Fit. Then, the PS3 is looking better and better. After that, I venture into the world of Wii Ware. Of course, we still love GTA4.

This week in video games, nintendo fights back against Hitler. Then, Value shares some exciting news about online sales that could spell the end of retail. After we discuss why we wouldn't miss gamestop, we FINALLY TALK ABOUT WII FIT! Yay! Also, be careful if you want to travel with the special edition of Fallout 3.

The first rule of the length of the cut scenes in Metal Gear Solid 4 is "DON'T TALK ABOUT THE LENGTH OF THE CUT SCENES IN METAL GEAR SOLID 4." At least, that's what Konami has told game reviewers. Then we get into some exciting rumors about zombies! Of course, Will Wright has been very busy and we talk about some of his latest work: virtual ikea and SPORE! YAY SPORE CREATURE CREATOR! Naturally, we want to talk about Grand Theft Auto. But, we can't. We just don't want to ruin the story. Also, there's war in games. Is that bad?

In this week's exciting episode, Diablo 3 is announced and Blizzard fans are upset because the game is so pretty. Then, Starcraft 2 gets ready to take over the world (or at least South Korea.) But, despite the good news, PC gaming doesn't look good right now. However, Rock Band 2 looks really good. Also, the Force Unleashed is ridiculous. Of course, the World Ends with You. Thanks to Aleck for the fantastic editing job on this one because I screwed up a lot.

Our incredible coverage of E3 is finally here! In some very exciting news, the Nintendo Wii isn't broken anymore. Unfortunately, we still have to wait a year to experience it. Then, when Microsoft isn't ripping of their competition, they're delivering Final Fantasy related bombshell announcements. Luckily, Fallout 3 should pacify us while Microsoft and Nintendo forsake their fans. I'd like to give some love to Sony, but they continue to disappoint me.

While this is kinda a short podcast, it'll take you at least 18 hours to defeat the Pandemonium Warden. Meanwhile, Aleck deserves a prize for his Oblivion achievements. While there aren't many new retail games out, Braid and Bionic Commando are tearing up Xbox Live. Also, Fantastic Contraption is amazing. If you haven't played it, go play it now.

In this years' exciting episode, we discuss the wonders of the new Xbox experience. He's a hint: I like it. I also like how the 360 can stream Netflix movies. It's awesome. In fact, in this podcast, we only talk about things that are awesome. Such as LEFT 4 DEAD. LEFT 4 DEAD is SO FUCKING AWESOME.

Hey. I have to tell you something. I may have lied before when I told you we would only discuss awesome things. Things happened. It turns out that Mercenaries 2 isn't quite awesome. But, the Force Unleashed is Aleck Approved. Also... Silent Hill games now suck. Too bad.

First, have a fat guy puke on the person that you roped. Then, when you're done playing Left 4 Dead, it's time to kill even more zombies with a friend in Resident Evil 5. OK. ENOUGH ZOMBIES. Now it is time to milk fable 2 for all that it's worth. However, you can play demos on your DS until your battery dies. When it does, you can play the 2 Guys Games: GAME OF THE YEAR.

In our exciting debut episode on the 2 Guys Talking network, we teach you what you need to know. For Example, did you know that the best time to buy used games is during the summer. WE ARE A WELL OF USEFUL INFORMATION; IT NEVER STOPS FLOWING. Also, I'm so annoyed by lightsabers in videogames that I can't even make sense. However, I make lots of sense when I discuss my BRAND NEW PS3 and LITTLE BIG PLANET. YAY! Then, Aleck loves his Fallout 3. A lot.

We've been doing some experimenting with our recording setup and I've excited to say that WE HAVE TOTALLY FAILED. I'm really sorry about my voice on this one. We won't let this happen again.

Speaking of screwups, Aleck thinks that copy protection that breaks games is a stupid practice. We'd love to offer you the details on RE:5, but Aleck and I forgot to play the demo. Instead, Aleck decided to deepend his Fallout addiction. Luckily, I've done some hard-hitting research (wikipedia) on Media Molecule. After we discuss the amazingness of Little Big Planet, the new Puzzle Quest is even more awesome in space. You can even play Puzzle Quest on a DSi with TWO CAMERAS. After that, Aleck will explain how you can get from Washington D.C. to Alaska in under an hour.

In this week's inebriated episode, we give our condolences to the Xbox Live user who was banner for being a lesbian. Next, the news tsunami begins as 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand blows our minds away. Then, the Xbox community games rub us in all the right places. When the waves have washed over us, Aleck and I make a playdate pact for Resident Evil 5. After fending off the zombies, we discover what the world has always known: macs suck for games. However, The PS3 is awesome for downloadable games. Then, believe it or not, we are still finding new things to talk about in Left 4 Dead.

BTW, Aleck loves his new hat.

The iPhone games are starting to look cool. But, not quite cool enough for us to buy an iPhone. However, nothing is stopping people from buying extra Wii Remotes. Gamestop may want our games, but we're not selling. Vin Diesel founded a development studio to put himself in games. You've been waiting for it, and we finally have our impressions of Resident Evil 5. SPOILER ALERT: We like it. A lot. Also, we've played Street Fighter IV. SPOLER ALERT II: We think it's ok. Of course we don't only play new games. I've been playing a lot of Final Fantasy XII and It's great.

In this weeks exciting episode, we cover the packaging of Patapon 2: Now with 100% less disc. However, Tiger Woods 10 for Wii has 100% more disc (golf.) Of course, Now that Peggle and WoW have been combined, the apocalypse is nigh.

It wouldn't be a podcast if we didn't talk about Left 4 Dead and Fallout 3: They're still good.

In case you were wondering, this podcast never ends.

Duke Nukem Forever can't seem to get a break. Now that 3D Realms has closed, it never will. After we lament our loss, we discover that Second Life is opening an ADULTS ONLY continent. After we get the virtual rape jokes out of the way (I am so sorry) we discover that Grand Theft Auto may not be as popular. After that, Aleck becomes sick of being nagged by his DS. Luckily, Pat's GBA still has some life in it.

This week we bring you are E3 roundup of the announcements from all 3 giant press conferences. Microsoft is up first with project Natal; a system that will totally revolutionize video games if it's actually real. (It's not). MS isn't the only company joining the motion controlled party. Sony has a new controller that looks a little to much like a sex toy. Luckily, it looks like a sword when it's on the screen. Nintendo doesn't want to be left out and you're not going to believe what they announce.

Also, You might notice that the Wii sales numbers I mention are totally made up.

This week we bring you news of the large chunks of plastic that made their debut at E3. Then, Aleck gives us a preview of the voices you'll find in the GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony. Then Pat give us gives us a glimpse into a world of endless imagination: Scribblenauts.

Cleverness abounds in this fine episode as we cover amazing topics such as the Sims 3, Matthew Mcconaughey, and very hot tomatos. Of course we might actually talk about video games as well. Come listen!

If you think that's interesting, you'll be blown away by Ubisoft's new game cases: THEY ARE MADE OF RECYCLED PLASTIC. I know. I just blew your mind. Your mind is mutating. Just like the new mutation game modes in Left 4 Dead 2. DO YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE? The only thing more impressive is getting your wife to play video games. WE HAVE DONE THAT. Sometimes, we even find time to play games ourselves. Like Fallout 3. YES, WE FOUND ANOTHER WAY TO MAKE ALECK TALK ABOUT FALLOUT. Prepare to be amazed.
